Ottawa events commemorating the 50th anniversary of 1959 Tibetan uprising
 
(Montreal, Friday, 6 March 2009) – Various events will be held in Ottawa to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan National uprising on Monday, March 9 and Tuesday March 10, 2009.
 
The Canada Tibet Committee will host a screening of Leaving Fear Behind on Monday, March 9 at 9:00 AM for parliamentary staff and the Parliamentary Press Gallery.

On Monday, Tibetan-Canadians from Ontario and Québec will be holding a National Lobby Day on Parliament Hill. Up to 40 meetings are planned with members of Parliament and Senators from all political parties.
 
The Ottawa Palyul Dharma Centre is hosting Remembering Tibet on Monday, March 9, 6:00 PM at the Library & Archives Canada, 395 Wellington St.
