Ambassador Lan Lijun

Dear Ambassador:

On behalf of the Canada Tibet Committee may I extend through you to those affected our deepest condolences over the loss of life and damage resulting from today’s earthquake in Qinghai province. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Notwithstanding our differences, which we hope will be resolved through continued substantive dialogue between your government and representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, it is at moments such as these that we can appreciate our common interests and needs as citizens of one global community.

Should we be of any assistance in helping to alleviate the suffering of those whose lives have been irreparably altered by this tragic event, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Sincerely,

Dermod Travis
