The CTC joins well-wishers around the world in celebration of the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday

July 06, 2015

Today, July 6, 2015, is the auspicious 80th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.  The Board of Directors and staff of the Canada Tibet Committee join the Tibetan community and our friends and supporters around the world in extending heartfelt wishes for the Dalai Lama’s long and healthy life.

“As a gift for his 80th birthday, His Holiness has requested that each of us develop the qualities of compassion, tolerance and loving kindness,” said Carole Samdup, Executive Director of the Canada Tibet Committee. “We make this pledge as we also renew our commitment to promoting human rights for Tibetans inside Tibet”.

Below, we have compiled a selection of video messages marking the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday so that all our readers can feel as part of the celebration.  Enjoy them!
