Tibet Exhibition Running Successfully in Taiwan

Kaushuing -- A month-long exhibition organised by
Tibet Religious Foundation of His Holiness the
Dalai Lama in Kaushuing, the second largest city
of Taiwan, is running into its 4th successful week.

The event is part of the commemoration of the
50th anniversary of Tibetan democracy in exile.
It was also aimed at enhancing the local people's
awareness about Tibet and Tibetan people.

The exhibition offers many programmes which
include a series of lecture sessions during every weekend.

On 9 October, His Holiness the Dalai Lama's
Representative Mr Dawa Tsering visited Kaushuing
city and met with the officials of Kaushuing
Museum of History. In the afternoon he gave a
talk to the audience about the reasons behind the
Tibetan people escaping from Tibet. The second
part of his talk was about the present situation
of Tibetans in Tibet and in exile. His talk
lasted about two hours followed by a question and answer session.

Earlier, Prof Su Cha Hong of Fuying University of
Kaushuing gave a talk on the transformation of
Tibetan polity into democratic system of
administration in exile. Prof Su Chia Hung has
also written a book in Chinese language on
democracy system of the Central Tibetan Administration.

On 2 October, Prof Pen Mei Li of National
Jiaotong University of Taiwan has presented her
talk on how the Tibetan community in exile are
facing challenges of living in exile and their
efforts to sustain themselves during the last 50
years. Prof Pen Mei li has traveled many times to
India and visited different part of India to
research the sweater business of Tibetan people
in exile. The ongoing exhibition will end on 28 November 2010.

"We hope to draw more audiences during these
remaining days of the exhibition," the organisers said in a statement.
