Press Release
October 11, 2010

Bangalore, Karnataka -- Khenpo Katyayana
Rinpoche, the president of Ngagyur Nyingma
Institute, the seat of higher philosophy learning
in Namdroling Monastery, will be giving a two day
discourse in Bangalore on the topic of "Finding
Joy in Benefiting All - The Heroic Path of
Bodhisattvas". Thubten Lekshey Ling Nyingma
Buddhist Centre ( in
Bangalore is organizing this program.

The program will be in two parts. The first part
of the program will be on October 16th, Saturday
evening 3pm to 6pm. The final part would be on
October 17th, Sunday morning 10am to 1pm. It will
be conducted at Ashirvad on St.Marks Road, Bangalore.

This discourse will be based on "Thirty-seven
practices of the Bodhisattvas", a classic
scripture from 14th Century Tibet that presents
the entire training that a Bodhisattva needs to
undergo in thirty seven profound pith
instructions. This also said to be the condensed
essence of a 7th Century classic from India
called "Bodhicharya-avatara". Each of the thirty
seven versus in this scripture is a complete
jewel in itself. Each verse has the potential to
bring in a lasting transformation in our lives,
and take us beyond our mundane afflictions. Thus,
this scripture is invaluably beneficial for both
someone aspiring for progress in the spiritual
path and someone who is trying to solve emotional problems of daily life.

The late His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
said, "Of all the vast and profound teachings on
the mind of enlightenment, the essence is to be
found in this text." Further, His Holiness
commented, "Permeate your mind with these
teachings day by day, month by month, and without
difficulty you will naturally awaken and develop
within you all the qualities of a Bodhisattva,
just as a bee flying from flower to flower sips
nectar from each, and from that nectar produces honey."

Khenpo Katyayana Rinpoche is currently the
president of Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, the seat
of higher philosophy learning in Namdroling
Monastery, Bylakkuppe. He belongs to the first
few disciples who studied under His Holiness
Penor Rinpoche at Namdroling when the monastic
university started at Bylakkuppe, Mysore. Khen
Rinpoche also studied under various masters
including His Holiness Chadral Rinpoche.

The program is free of charges and open for all.
Those who wish to attend may contact the
