Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche to visit Germany and Sweden

Dharamshala -- Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche will attend a ceremony
marking the 50th Anniversary of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation on
19 May 2008, at the former Federal Parliament assembly hall, in Bonn, Germany.

Kalon Tripa will leave Dharamshala on Wednesday, 15 May.

The foundation was established by the then Federal President, Theodor
Heuss, on 19 May 1958, at Villa Hammerschmidt in Bonn.

The conference - 50th Anniversary of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation
for Freedom - aims to provide further inspiration and momentum of
foundation's work for freedom throughout the world.

Other key speakers include the current Federal President Prof Dr
Horst Kohler and Lord Ralph Dahrendorf, former chairman of the Foundation.

Kalon Tripa will take part in a two-day high-level international
experts' conference on Masterplan 2050: Strategies for a Free World,
in Berlin, on 21 and 22 May.

During the conference, Kalon Tripa will deliver a key note address on
Religion - a Threat to Liberty.

During his two-day visit to Sweden, Kalon Tripa will inaugurate the
opening ceremony of the 'Tibet Week' festival, organised by the
Tibetan community based in Stockholm, on 18 May. He will address the
Tibetan community on the current situation in Tibet. On the same day,
he is also scheduled to meet with the members of Swedish Parliament.

Prior to visit his to Sweden and Germany, Kalon Tripa will attend a
prayer service in memory of the eminent Gandhian, late Nirmala
Deshpandey, in Delhi on 16 May.

Kalon Tripa will return to Dharamshala on 24 May.
