The Dalai Lama arrives in Sydney tomorrow for a five day visit to
Australia, while back home his representatives plan
"results-orientated" talks on Tibet with China.
The Tibetan spiritual leader is in Sydney from June 11 to 15, to hold
lectures for Australian supporters.
As the Dalai Lama sets off on his trip, the United States and the
European Union will call on China today to hold more talks on Tibet
with the Dalai Lama's envoys.
In a draft joint declaration to be released after the US-EU summit in
Slovenia, they push both sides to pursue a constructive and
"results-oriented" dialogue.
A seventh round of long-running talks between China and Tibet
scheduled for this week has been postponed as Beijing focuses on
earthquake relief efforts.
