October 1, 2008

Dharamsala, Tue, 30 Sep 2008 (ANI) - Dharamsala, Sept 30 (ANI): Tibetan
spiritual leader the Dalai Lama delivered religious discourse here today.

Organised by the 'Tibetan Buddhist Center Singapore', the five-day
discourse is the first event of Dalai Lama, after recovering from
abdominal pain that sent him to hospital last month.

People from across the world thronged here to attend the sermons.

Dana, a native of Switzerland said," it is important for the Chinese
also because there is an increased interest in Buddhism in China and if
they request his holiness is open to give teachings to everyone without
any discrimination."

The focal point of the sermons was his teachings on Nagarjuna's
Commentary on Bodhicitta (Jangchup Semdrel) and Kamalashila's the
Middling Stages of Meditation (Gomrim Barpa).

The Dalai Lama has called a special meeting of Tibetan exiles in
November or December to discuss this year's political unrest in Tibet
and the future of the Tibetan movement. (ANI)
