"As long as human rights are violated, there can be no foundation for peace. How can peace grow where speaking the truth is itself a crime?"

Air dense with smog
Forests empty of trees
Officials flush from bribery
Voices of freedom smothered
Monasteries devoid of monks
Streets paved by forced labor
Tsampa replaced by chow mien
Tibetans forced to learn Chinese
Shops loaded with Chinese goods
Monks and nuns forced to copulate
Communism dominating Buddhism
Rivers saturated with Tibetan blood
Religion poisoned by brain-washing
Nationalism tormented by autocracy
Prisons swelling with freedom fighters
Earth pregnant with Tibetan skeletons
Judgments dispensed without fair trials
Bars crammed with Chinese prostitutes
Human rights obliterated by the Chinese
Pristine lakes polluted with atomic waste
Population overwhelmed with Han people
Tibetan architecture replaced by Chinese structures
Government administered by Communist Chinese cadres
The Potala Palace frigid in the absence of the Dalai Lama
Peaceful demonstrations smothered under the barrel of a gun
A Nobel Peace Prize laureate accused of being a wolf in sheep's clothing

That is the true present status of Tibet
Which the Chinese beget and we must regret
