His Holiness the Dalai Lama warmly received in Tokyo

Tokyo -- His Holiness the Dalai Lama was warmly
received on arriving at Tokyo Narita airport this
morning. Ven Wakaomi and executive members of
Nagano Zenkoji Temple, Representative Tshoko
Lhakpa and staff of Liaison Office of His
Holiness the Dalai Lama in Japan, the protocol
officer from the Indian Consulate, security
personnel, Japanese people and Tibetan community
received His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the airport.

On reaching Marunouchi Hotel, His Holiness was
received by Mr. Seishu Makino, the founder and
Chairman of the Japanese Parliamentary Group for
Tibet (JPGT) and Japanese media. His Holiness
spoke to the media on topics like new leadership
in Japan, finance, and democracy in Japan.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is in Japan for a
ten-day visit from 18-27 June. Zenkoji Temple in
Nagano has invited His Holiness to visit the
Temple and address their monks and the general
public in the region. His Holiness along with the
chief abbots, Japanese and Tibetan monks will
conduct a prayer for world peace and for the
people who had lost their lives in recent
earthquake in Kyigudo in north-east Tibet.

His ten-day schedule includes interaction with
Japanese monks, teaching at Kanazawa and Yokohama.

  His Holiness will attend a press conference
tomorrow morning at the Foreign Correspondent's
Club of Japan before moving to Nagano in the afternoon.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is visiting 14th time
to Japan since his first visit to Japan in 1967 after being in exile.
