The Second European Tibetan Congress (ETC) will
take place 15-17.October 2010 in Paris, France
under the slogan "To strengthen our communities
and improve our democracy". The Organizing
Committee welcomes all Tibetan community
representative members in Europe to participate.
Each country can send maximum 10 delegates. In
addition to the official delegates, any Tibetan
living in Europe can participate as observers.
The main hosts of the event will be the Tibetan
Community of France; this will be the largest
gathering of Tibetan community leaders from Europe in 2010.

The First ETC was held in Basel, Switzerland in
2008 with over 125 Tibetan delegates from 14
European countries. The 1st ETC meeting decided
that a 2nd ETC meeting should be held in
2010.  The aim is to strengthen the capabilities
of the Tibetan communities in Europe and improve
Tibetan democracy by facilitating discussion on
Kalon Tripa and European Chitue candidates.
Prominent western and Tibetan speakers will give
inspirational and educational talks. The 2nd ETC
Organizing Committee consists of Tibetan
Community of Austria, France, Hungary, Italy, Norway and Spain.

The ETC aims to:

* Promote the common interests of Tibetans living in Europe
* Educate Tibetans in Europe of the culture of Democracy and Rule of Law
* Integrate Tibetans living in Europe to the
society of their respective country of residency

To participate as delegate or observer in the 2nd
ETC, individuals must contact their respective
Tibetan community to register. So far, ten
countries have confirmed their attendance
(Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland,
Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).

The registration deadline has been extended. The
registration is open until 31st August, 2010.
